Since leaving the UFC in 2020, Paige VanZant has explored various areas of combat sports, with her most recent appearance being in Dana White’s Power Slap bout.
After leaving the UFC, Paige VanZant admitted that what she missed most was how the UFC operated as a promotional tool and the “machine” it operated.
However, she recently started working with her former boss Dana White again when she made her Power Slap debut last June, winning against Christine Wolmarans

Paige VanZant’s Second Power Slap Fight Ends in Shocking Result in Abu Dhabi
This Thursday, ahead of the UFC’s headline event UFC 308 in Abu Dhabi, White decided it was the perfect time to take Power Slap international as he headlines his first event outside the United States with Power Slap 9.
On the card is Paige ’12-Gauge’, who takes on Chelsea Dodson, wife of UFC legend John Dodson.
This is Dodson’s first time in professional combat sports, although she has extensive experience in both wrestling and martial arts.
Ahead of the fight, VanZant was tipped as the favorite to win the title after impressing in her first outing earlier this year.
After a solid first round from both women, VanZant will be hoping to show off her experience in the second round by scoring a big knockout. However, with her second slap of the contest, the 30-year-old was adjudged to have fouled Dodson and was deducted a point for ‘clubbing’.
Now with confidence and momentum heading into the finals, Dodson had a chance to pull off a big upset. As she entered the finals, VanZant knew she might need a knockdown to win.
