Coach Ruben Amorim confirmed that he will try not to risk the players’ fitness in the Premier League match against Arsenal at 11:30 p.m. on March 9.
Man Utd face fitness concerns
Man Utd have returned from Spain following a 1-1 draw with Real Sociedad, a result that adds to the appeal of their Europa League last-16 second leg at Old Trafford next Thursday. Manager Ruben Amorim spoke to reporters at the Reale Arena before boarding the plane and was asked about his squad for this weekend’s game against Arsenal.

Coach Amorim has revealed that 17-year-old striker Chido Obi could face his former club after being ineligible to play on Thursday. The Portuguese coach insists he needs to assess his squad ahead of the game against Arsenal, who beat PSV Eindhoven 7-1 in the Champions League.
Asked whether absentees Harry Maguire and Manuel Ugarte could feature at Old Trafford, Amorim replied: “I don’t know. We need to get through the game on Sunday. In Spain, the team was very tired in the last 20 minutes.
We have to prepare for Sunday and then think about the important game on Thursday. But right now, I have to be honest, I don’t know.”
When asked about the “Red Devils” personnel for the upcoming big match, coach Amorim affirmed: “Everyone can start. If they can train fully tomorrow, they will be ready to start. Chido Obi is on the list, so he can play”.
MU is about to welcome “patients” back
“We are checking all the players who are still fit and not at risk of injury. However, we still have to take a little risk to have a competitive squad on Sunday. MU of course wants to win and is determined to win against Arsenal”, said coach Amorim.

Patrick Dorgu is set to miss his second of three domestic games through suspension, while Toby Collyer is back from injury. Asked if anyone will be back by the weekend, the United boss repeated: “I don’t know. We’ll assess everything tomorrow.”
The former Sporting Lisbon boss added some more information when asked if some of the absent players could be out for the rest of the season: “I think only Amad and Lisandro Martinez. I don’t want to say anything, but I hope Amad can come back sooner. Lisandro will definitely not be able to play this season, of course.
Kobbie Mainoo could be back soon, as could Manuel Ugarte. I think Luke Shaw and Mason Mount could be available soon.”
