Four Man Utd players worth £232m blacklisted

– Former player Rio Ferdinand pointed out that 4 players cannot adapt to coach Ruben Amorim’s playing style and are at risk of leaving.

Man Utd won 3-2 against Ipswich in round 27 of the Premier League but the club’s problems remain. Coach Amorim’s playing style has not brought about ease. The Red Devils’ goals in recent times have mainly come from set pieces. Meanwhile, the club’s defense still makes fatal mistakes.

That is why former player Rio Ferdinand does not feel secure about his old club. Commenting on Man Utd, the former center-back shared: “Coach Amorim’s success at Sporting Lisbon opens up great expectations for Man Utd. However, good things have not appeared yet.

I think Coach Amorim needs to wait until the end of the season to build the force and team to his liking. I have watched Sporting Lisbon play a few times. They are a dynamic and energetic team. That is one of the main factors that helped Sporting Lisbon succeed.

However, Man Utd at this time is not a dynamic team. The Red Devils are not good physically. They cannot overwhelm their opponents physically”.

Rio Ferdinand believes that the four players Joshua Zirkzee, Matthijs de Ligt, Harry Maguire and Rasmus Hojlund, who have a combined value of up to 232 million pounds, cannot meet the physical requirements. That makes them not suitable for coach Amorim’s playing style and at risk of having to leave in the summer of 2024.

Rio Ferdinand added: “Zirkzee does not fit the style of play of coach Amorim. Others like De Ligt, Maguire, Hojlund are the same. Therefore, the Portuguese coach needs to find people who not only meet the tactical requirements but also the physical aspect which is equally important.”

Man Utd are in a financial crisis so they do not receive much expectation to create a “breakthrough summer”. Instead, coach Amorim needs to sell players to have the funds to bring in new people at Man Utd. That is a big challenge for the Portuguese strategist.
