Alcaraz and Zverev into the fourth round of the 2025 Australian Open

Alcaraz and Zverev still asserted their mettle against their opponents with convincing victories to continue their journey in the first Grand Slam tournament of the year.

After two consecutive 3-0 victories, Alexander Zverev continued to have an easy match in the third round, this time against Jacob Fearnley – the world No. 92 player from England. Throughout the match, the No. 2 seed maintained the initiative and won after 3 sets with the scores of 6-3, 6-4 and 6-4. Alexander Zverev currently has 28 wins at the Australian Open.

If he wins one more match, he will equal the record of the German player with the most wins in the first Grand Slam of the year, set by the legendary Boris Becker. Zverev will meet 14th seed Ugo Humbert in the fourth round.

In another match, third seed Carlos Alcaraz continued his winning streak, but this time he had a bit more trouble against Portuguese opponent Nuno Borges. In his first match on Rod Laver this year, Alcaraz won the first two sets easily 6-2, 6-4.

World No. 33 Borges successfully made things difficult for the Spanish No. 3 seed in the third set, when the match had to go into a tie-break and Borges was the winner. However, in the fourth set, Alcaraz still had important breaks against his opponent to easily win 6-2, and complete the victory 3-1. Alcaraz will meet No. 15 seed Jack Draper in the fourth round.
