According to sources, former Juventus and AC Milan coach Max Allegri is one of the leading candidates to replace Amorim. INEOS is said to value his extensive experience and ability to handle pressure at Old Trafford. Allegri is one of the most successful coaches in the history of Italian football. During his career, he won 6 Serie A titles (5 with Juventus and 1 with AC Milan), and led Juventus to two Champions League finals.
However, in recent years, Allegri’s reputation has not been as praised as before. In Italy, many opinions say that his tactical style is outdated, not keeping up with the pace of modern football. After leaving Juventus in 2019, Allegri took a two-year hiatus before returning to Turin in 2021. His second term at Juventus was not considered very positive, when the “Old Lady” continuously finished the season with a large gap in points compared to the Serie A champion, and at the same time, the achievements in the Champions League also did not meet expectations.
