Liverpool defeated PSG 1-0 in France despite facing many difficulties. However, the outcome of the match could have been very different if PSG had been awarded a penalty in the 25th minute.

At half-time of the first leg of the Champions League round of 16 between PSG and Liverpool, sporting advisor Luis Campos expressed his displeasure. Accordingly, the senior PSG official was angry with referee Davide Massa after ignoring the collision between Ibrahima Konate and Bradley Barcola in the visitors’ penalty area.
The incident happened in the 25th minute. Bradley Barcola passed his compatriot Ibrahima Konate and had a chance to face goalkeeper Alisson Becker. Slowing down, the Liverpool centre-back seemed to push Bradley Barcola from behind. However, referee Davide Massa did not blow the whistle. VAR then intervened but maintained his stance of not awarding a penalty to PSG.
That decision angered Luis Campos. At half-time, PSG’s sports advisor went down the hallway to the dressing room to express his opinion to the referees. “It’s a red card and a penalty,” he shouted loudly at the referee team.
This is not the first time Luis Campos has behaved like this. During PSG’s away match in Toulouse on February 15, he also said that referee Delajod should have given Vincent Sierro a red card after a foul on Bradley Barcola himself.
